How to Find a European Producer and Avoid Mistakes

Опубліковано:

Finding a producer in Europe is not hard. Finding one you can work with reliably over time is. Here is where to look, what to check and what to watch out for.

Where to look

  • Specialised international trade fairs and producer catalogues.
  • Industry associations and registers.
  • Recommendations from colleagues and partners.
  • An importer with its own producer base: we work with a base of 600+ European producers of alcohol and food.

What to check

  1. Status and experience. Whether it is a producer or an intermediary, and whether it has export experience.
  2. Certificates. Whether the products meet import requirements. We organise document preparation through partners.
  3. Production capacity. Whether the producer can supply regularly, not just the first batch.
  4. Communication. Speed and clarity of replies are a good indicator of future cooperation.

Why samples matter

A sample shows quality and packaging. Taste and compare several producers before you place an order.

Which terms to agree

Price, minimum order, delivery terms (Incoterms), payment terms, production and shipping times. Put them in the contract.

Red flags

  • The producer does not provide documents or answers evasively.
  • Payment terms of "100% upfront" with no guarantees.
  • A price far below the market.

How we help

We select producers for your request from our base of 600+: terms, samples, negotiations. You choose, and we organise purchasing, logistics and delivery.
